Von Ghaku Don Riko (by Daddycool x Florencio x De Niro) with our talented young rider, Devan Cornelissen.
Devan has truly worked magic with Don Riko under the guidance of Dominique Tardin. This gelding is incredibly gifted, so I asked Devan to start him under saddle and produce him for us.
One thing is for certain: Riko will Definitely not be the last von Ghaku youngster to be backed by Devan. He in an exceptionally talented rider with a natural feel and sensitivity for every horse he works with.
We are excited for the future of this Falecia's offspring and proud to have Devan helping us showcase his and his younger sibling's talent. VG Mirke, by VG Raka, is now one year old and an extremely promising filly. She is absolutely beautiful and will fit a lady that wants a top sports horse for dressage.
Devan approached me asking for an opportunity to work with horses — something he has been passionate about since the age of five. I had a challenging young horse, Don Riko, that I did not feel confident to handle myself. Hoping to one day work with someone who shares my belief in the importance of natural upbringing and gentle schooling methods for horses, I decided to give Devan a chance.
He achieved excellent results with Don Riko, showing a calm, intuitive approach that earned the horse’s trust. Encouraged by this success, I entrusted him with a difficult and unpredictable mare I had hoped to ride. Once again, he made significant progress and handled her with quiet confidence and impressive skill.
I have been deeply impressed by Devan’s natural feel for horses, his ability to work through difficult behavior, and his good riding technique and feel. I truly hope to work with him on a more permanent basis in the future, as I believe he has the potential to lay a solid and thoughtful foundation for the young horses on my farm.
